Dogs Without a Home

There are many dogs in Hong Kong without a home, but thanks to the kind hearted work of Ms Angela Chan there are some dogs which are fortunate enough to have a second chance at life.

Ms Chan runs a charity called the Hong Kong Homeless Dog Shelter and has over 300 dogs which she has rescued and taken under her care. Most of these animals had either been abandoned on the street or abused by their owners. Angela tells us the story of how she found one particular dog that had been tied to a tree and forced to survive by drinking only sewage water.

This year we decided we would dedicate our 'Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday' campaign to supporting Angela and her dogs after learning about her work through a local TV programme. As a result of the 24 hour 'Free Shipping' campaign we managed to raise enough money to purchase $500 USD worth of dog food. Although this may seem like a lot, it is actually only enough to provide 250 cans of food which will serve as a small Christmas treat for the animals.

Here are some of the photos we took during our visit:

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude towards Ms Chan for looking after these beautiful creatures, and would urge anybody who is thinking of buying a pup from the store to consider adoption as an alternative.
