Wax Seal Gift Wrapping

We had the most pleasant surprise whilst on a recent trip to New York.

It was the day after our exhibition at the National Stationery Show. We had been standing on our feet all day for 4 days straight with nothing more than a bottle of water and the occasional muffin to pick away at. So we thought what better way to celebrate our achievement than with a lavish feast, and since we were already in New York we decided to visit one of our client's nearby restaurants.

The Roman and Williams Guild is a celebration of quality and craftsmanship. At the heart of the Guild is a furniture store, which also houses the La Mercerie Café famed for its delightful French cuisine.

We entered through a set of drapes (yes, drapes) into a warm and vibrant setting. We were seated near the entrance and in order to access the ladies room you first have to pass through the furniture store. Upon her return my wife looked at me and grinned before exclaiming "I think I spotted our wax seals at the gift wrapping counter!".

Let's step back briefly and provide some context before we delve any deeper.

RWGuild have been a client of ours for quite some time and are a regular acquirer of our Self Adhesive Wax Seals which we customise for them with their own logo. Over time we have grown very familiar with their seals, however we had no inkling as to what they were being used for (since wax seals are no longer limited to just wedding invitations). It was therefore our intention to visit their store solely out of curiosity.

Now, back to the story.

It turns out that much to our delight, the retail team at RWGuild meticulously packages all of their gifts with the most attentive of care. The manager was kind enough to give us a live demonstration and so we have documented the entire process here for your enjoyment:

Quick tip: Whenever you see a letterpressed card, you know you're in for a treat.

The actual sealing process happened too quickly for us to shoot because with the Self Adhesive Seals you simply Peel & Stick.

...and just when you think it can't get any better, they whip out a sturdy gift bag and an enthusiastic assortment of tissue paper. Throw in an embossed envelope and a printed gift note and you have one of the best if not THE best gift wrapping service on the planet.

Retailers of the world, take note. If your gift wrapping does not look even remotely similar to that of the above then you must be doing something wrong!

Thank you Roman and Williams Guild for going the extra mile and for taking the time to make the unwrapping experience every bit as special as the gift itself.
