There are too many businesses that do not have their own unique style because they do not appreciate the amount of thought and effort that truly goes into creating a unique brand.
What is a brand?
First of all a brand is not a logo. A brand encompasses a broad spectrum of conscious design choices that come together to form the visual identity of a company. This could be anything from the choice of colours to the way the packaging works to the wording that you use, right down to the minute details that make a product unique to your brand.
At Stamptitude we have spent the past 5 years continually developing each individual aspect of our brand to ensure that our image aligns with our values and more importantly our original mission statement of bringing Wax Seals to the modern market.
Everything from the duotone packaging to the gold foiled instruction cards and even the design and shape of our seals have all been carefully considered. These details have a purpose in conveying the message of the brand and are not always chosen simply for their aesthetic value or due to an emerging trend.
Playing The Imitation Game
Every day there are new online sellers looking to capitalise on the wax seal 'trend' and instead of taking the time to develop their own style, they choose to imitate what others have worked so hard to create. At times the resemblance can be so blatant that we often don’t know whether to laugh, cry, feel flattered or even offended.
Unfortunately we are not the only ones who suffer this dilemma as it is something which we see happening all too often in the business world. So what would our advice be to fellow business owners who are looking to create a new brand or improve their existing one? Well, you should take Oscar Wilde’s advice:
“Always be yourself, everyone else is already taken.”
Everybody has to start somewhere
In the above photo you’ll see the full transition from our first generation branding / packaging to now. As you can tell, it wasn’t always glamorous for us in the beginning. It has taken a lot of hard work to get to where we are and we are always so grateful to each and every one of our customers for supporting us along the way.
